Elementary Ministry Basics
We offer two sets of elementary-age programs on Sundays:
- Sunday School (9:30 a.m.) for grades pre-K-6th
- His Beacons (during the 10:45 a.m. Worship hour) for 4 years through 4th grade.
Sunday School
At this time, we offer two Sunday School classrooms: pre-K/K, 4th-6th grade. If your ch.jpg)

ild is in 1st-3rd grade, we can accommodate him/her. We have dedicated and experienced member-teachers for each of these classrooms: Frank & Jennifer Griffith teach pre-K/K, Kathi McGregor & Toni Hammer teach 4th-6th.
This year, the pre-K/K class is using the Group Hands-On Bible curriculum. In the first unit, they will learn about three important Old Testament characters: Joseph, David, and Daniel. The elementary children are learning that "In the Beginning... Jesus" from the Children Desiring God curriculum.
His BeaconsDuring the Worship hour, we offer His Beacons, a class for children ages 4 through 4th grade. This year, the class will study the Ten Commandments. His Beacons is a class that combines a unique presentation of biblical principles with social interaction and hands-on activities. The teachers this year are Rhonda Foster, Cindy Johnson, and Terry McDonough. We have teen helpers as well.
Special Events
Additionally, we schedule social and service events throughout the year. Because our facility is temporary, our only regular interactions occur on Sunday mornings. However, children can also get connected in small groups and through extra-curricular events organized by the Children's Ministry (e.g. the Christmas and End-of-Year parties) or the larger LCCC congregation (e.g. Shoots & Ladders, the LCCC Anniversary Celebration). We will soon provide regular, local service opportunities, which also encourage relationships.
