What Type of Church?

A common question that people ask when they hear we are a new church is "What type of church are you?" By this question people may be asking about denomination, music style, theology or a number of other distinctions.

In terms of background, Lake Cities Community Church is church plant, that began on Easter Sunday, 2007. Our mother church is Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson. We are an independent, non-denominational, evangelical church. Some might call us a "Bible Church." People in our fellowship have various denominational backgrounds including Episcopal, Baptist, Methodist, etc.

While most would not consider us a "seeker-sensitive" church - we are intentionally evangelistic
and invite anyone to come and see what difference Jesus can make. We try to be engaged in our community and invite spiritual seekers or people disconnected form the church to join us at any time.

Some may consider us "traditional" but we prefer "historic" or "classical" in approach.
Our worship time is blended in terms of music choices. We sing some modern songs, as well as treasured hymns of the faith. At times we will use creeds in our service, or other confessions of faith to remind us of the orthodox beliefs that have been handed down to us through the ages. We share time weekly at the Lord's Table (Communion or Eucharist). At LCCC, you are never more than a week away from remembering Christ's sacrifice and resurrection - which is the central teaching of Christianity and therefore a central part of our service.

We hope this helps you to understand a little more about who we are and that you will consider stoping by for a visit this Sunday. We would love to meet you and tell you more about our new church!
