Our Heritage - Planting a Legacy of Faith

Lake Cities Community Church's story starts over 30 years ago when Trinity Fellowship Church in Richardson, Texas was founded and God gave the leadership of that church a vision for church planting. To find out more about Trinity Fellowship, go to www.TrinityFellowship.org.

Trinity envisioned a supportive church plant, with the purpose of extending Christ's reach into the surronding communities. An "interest meeting" was held in April 2006 to to see if the Lord would lead people to join up with this church planting ministry. Over 80 people attended this meeting.

Over the months, fourteen families "signed on" to start Lake Cities Community Church. Twelve were from Trinity Fellowship and two families were from the target area. From April of 2006 to April of 2007 much time was spent in prayer, planning and preparing to launch this new church.

We launched at the Rowlett Bowl-a-Rama (in their meeting / birthday party room) on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007.

In May 2007 we moved from the bowling alley to the Cinemark 12 movie theatre at The Harbor in Rockwall where we worshiped until February 3, 2008

On February 10, 2008 we began worshiping at our third temporary facility - a former child care center (Rowlett Learning Center) at 4818 Industrial, in Rowlett. This, for the first time, has allowed us to occupy a facility throughout the week. Eventually this facility will make way for the New George Bush Tollway.

The story of Lake Cities Community church continues as an adventure of faith - people gathering to worship the Lord and to grow together in the spiritual life, loving one another while we share the good news that has so profoundly impacted us.
