Our Four Purposes

Every created thing has a purpose. A lighthouse. An anchor. A compass. The same is true in a church. At Lake Cities Community Church, there are four foundational purposes that we believe express God’s plan for our congregation: Worshiping… Growing… Loving… Sharing.

Worshiping
Worshiping
Our highest calling is worshiping the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The color purple represents God as King and His majesty.

Like a King’s CORONATION – We submit to and celebrate God's grace and place in our lives. God the Father invites us to share His life and love through the work of His Son. The Spirit equips us to respond in obedience, stregthened by Christ around His Table so that our worship would extend beyond Sunday morning to every day of the week, in every activity, in every relationship. Revelation 15:4, Psalm 100, Pslam 145:1-3.

Our purpose is to be a GOD-EXALTING church.

Growing
Growing
We are also called to grow in our faith – not alone, but together in community. Young and old, maturing spiritually toward Christ-likeness, nurtured by the truths of God’s Word. The color Green represents life and growth.

Like a TREE – Each of us grows in diverse ways, yet together – bearing different fruit, always glorifying Christ. Romans 12:1-2, Colossians 1:9-10, Pslam 1:1-3.

Our purpose is to be a LIFE-TRANSFORMING church.

Loving
Loving
Living in loving community means we are commited to each other and care for people at their point of need. Knowing one another and being known in authentic relationships. The color Brown represents authenticity.

Like a FAMILY – We seek to provide a place for people to share their lives – experiencing real and genuine community. John 13:34-35, Galatians 6:10, 1 John 1:3.

Our purpose is to be a RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING church.

Sharing
Sharing
Joyfully we share God's grace with the world. The color Red represents the blood of Christ -which makes available the gift of eternal life.

Like a GIFT EXCHANGE – Where loved ones share good gifts with one another - we seek to share God's gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ with those around us. Acts 4:13, Romans 10:14-15, Ephesians 2:8-9.

Our purpose is to be a GOSPEL-SHARING church.
